WHW geekend game 3 battle report

3rd (and final) game of the saturday was 1500 points against Dave P's blood angels
.
Trying to write battle reports for games that happened nearly 2 weeks ago is hard, note to self, in future, scribble em up in draft format quicker.


so as best as i can remember:

My list was unchanged,

Daves list was something like
a captain with claws and a jump pack
2 priests, 1 in terminator armour, 1 with a jump pack

a unit of shooty terminators with a cyclone missile launcher

a unit of assault marines

2 tactical squads, 1 in a rhino, 1 in a landraider

We rolled up annihilation and table quarters for mission and setup, i won the setup roll and forced dave to go first. he placed his terminators in reserve to deepstrike in, the land raider and rhino had their respective squads in placed right up on his left side, the jump marines set up in a single unit behind the central terrain.
I reserved everything.

Turn 1, nothing really happened, dave shuffled the land raider to the left to get some better firing lanes with his las cannons if i arrived on that side. the assault squad entered the central building.
I had nothing deployed so on to turn 2.

Turn 2.
Dave rolls for his terminators and they arrive, he drops them to his right of the central building. The jump troops shuffle around a bit.
I roll for my reserves, the razorwing arrives and a venom arrives.
I bring both on the opposite side of the central building to the land raider, the razorwing drops all 4 missiles, 2 dark lance shots and a splinter cannon on the jump pack unit, killing 6 including the priest. Some unlucky rolling on daves part but im a point up. The venom unloads 12 cannon shots into the terminator squad but with  2+ and fnp, none of them die.

Turn 3
The assault marines shuffle a bit further forward into the central building, the land raider swings to daves right flank ready to get a PotMS shot off on the fighter, the terminators advance on the venom. 
The terminators immobilise the venom, the landraider hits and pens the razorwing but its flickerfield saves it.
My turn, i think it was just another venom that arrived, and the raider. The raider i sent far out down my right flank, hugging the touchline moving flat out and behind cover. the venom moved on centrally ready to take shots at the jump marines.
The razorwing darted left over a wood allowing it a decent shot at any of daves units and out of assault range of the terminators. The warriors got out of the immobilised venom and moved into the building next to them.
The venoms unloaded on the assault marines, killing a few more, i believe there was only 1 marine and the captain left by this point.
The razorwing killed a terminator and the disembarked warriors missed.

Turn 4
Ok, admitting defeat here, i can only vaguely remember how the remainder of the game went.
I went for broke with the wych raider, gambling 3 kill points on dave either missing it with a twin lascannon or me making the 5++, dave didnt miss, but i did make the 5++.
The combined firepower of venoms and razorwing killed the jump squad and offed the terminator priest. the wyches and lelith got out and advanced on  the embarked squad in a rhino, i was hoping to pop it open with dark lances and charge the squad with the wyches, sadly i didnt pop the rhino so had to charge the tank with the wyches, their haywires killed the tank and the tac marines got out, ready to pepper the wyches to pieces. I'd took a big gamble, and it only half paid off. except luckily for me, the game ended there at the end of turn 5. a victory to the dark eldar by 1 lone kill point.
We decided to play the rest of the turns out as it had been an interesting cagey game, obviously it had ended turn 5 with a victory for the dark eldar, at the end of turn 6 it was a draw, and at the end of turn 7 it was a blood angels victory, weird!
