WHW Geekend Day 2 summary

Been too lax in getting these written up so i'll just summarise the 2 games from day 2.




First game of the Sunday was 1500 40k vs Wills khorne daemons, my list was unchanged, will had several units of bloodletters, a unit of flesh hounds, a blood thirster, a unit of bloodcrushers and 2 soul grinders.
We rolled up D3+2 objectives, by the end of turn 3 id missed with something like 7 out of 8 dark lance shots at his soul grinders, with all of their blast templates landing on my fliers and knocking them out of the sky. We called it shortly after that, it was just one of those games you have to laugh about really, the venom splinter cannons were pretty accurate, but excluding those, i think pretty much the only rolls i was makign above 2's were for break tests.

Game 2 of the day was 2500 point fantasy battle against toms skaven.
My list was something like:
a Nehek Lvl 4 priest with 4+ ward
a king with destroyer of eternities
a level 2 nehek priest with scroll
a necrotect
60 warriors
40 archers
6 necro knights
3 chariots
2 catapults
1 casket of souls
1 necrosphinx

Tom fielded something like:
a horde of clanrats with a screaming bell
a horde of plague monks with a furnace
a horde of clanrats
2 lvl 1 plague priests
1 lvl 4 grey seer
2 hellpits
2 warpfire throwers

Basically, Tom went first and bombed forward, his hellpits racing out front almost side by side, though one made it much further than the other, so i charged that one with my necrosphinx, figured he had to do something worthwhile in a game eventually. and he certainly did, he rolled a hit with his decapitating strike, and a 6 to wound, his first successful heroic killing blow floors the hellpit, he overruns past most of toms lines ending up right next to the other hellpit.
the 2nd one charges his flank, he doesnt get a HKB but over a few turns does enough wounds to eventually break the hellpit and he runs it down. Meanwhile the necroknights whittle down the solo block of clanrats and the warriors with king whittle away the plague monks to nothing. Tom calls the game around turn 5 where hes on the verge of having to win the game just with the horde of clanrats with screaming bell, they wouldve had to kill the sphinx, the remaining necro knights, the remaining archers, about 40 warriors and the chariots. and all my characters.
Thus, Choppy the wonder sphinx was reborn. As long as he avoids giants and bloodthirsters, hes alright.
